An 18-line long letter in the handwriting and with the signature of the Rosh Yeshiva of Mir Rabbi Chaim Shmulevitz from 1963. In the letter Rabbi Chaim gives thanks for having received the precious booklet “even though his sender knows in what merit I have received it”. He signs his name “Chaim” at the end. An additional signature on the telegram on the other side of the leaf. Good overall condition. Rabbi Chaim Leib HaLevi Shmulevitz, 1902-1978, one of the greatest Roshei Yeshiva of the last generation. He served as Rosh Yeshiva of Mir in Lithuania, during the period of the Shanghai exile during the Second World War, and then in the Land of Israel.
