A historical book about the Russian-French war “in the years 5573-74-75”. By the maskil Mordechai Aharon Ginsburg [1795-1846]. This book was published a few years after the blood libel in Damascus, in which Sir Moshe Montefiore played a significant role in saving the Jews, and as a result the author writes a letter “A gift of thanks on behalf of the nation” to “The exalted and lofty prince the righteous and kind man, Moshe Montefiore”. There is also a song of praise about Montefiore by Elazar Halberstam. [4] leaves, 167 pages. 18 cm. Ownership inscriptions. Semi-leather binding with signs of wear. Moth holes. Leaf [1] is detached. Overall condition: Good.
