Scribal handwriting, in ink and color on Bristol paper. The Ketubah was written in Rashi script, and is decorated in colored ink with traditional illustrations and decorations of flowers, fruit and a pair of doves. At the top of the Ketubah: “Bin”u Am”y As”u, Kol Sasson V’Kol Simcha”. The Ketubah was written for the marriage of the bridegroom Yitzchak son of Nissim with the bride Esther daughter of Shmuel. | Georgia was the only country in the Soviet Union in which Judaism was kept in public, and Jewish marriage ceremonies were conducted there, despite the Communist rule. | 44×63 cm. Stains, tears without lack. Overall condition: Good.
