Flavius’s History of the Jews (Yosef ben Matityahu), under the title “Jewish Antiquities”. First edition published in French with wonderful engraved illustrations depicting the Jewish Wars and Jewish history, with various maps. 5 leaves, [14], 758, [22] pages. There are 2 maps that open up and an additional picture that opens as well. 33cm. Wonderful, well-preserved copy on thick, high-quality paper. Original, pretty binding with defects in the seams. Page cuttings in red. Stains. Light defects, generally very good condition.

Signature of ownership in Latin script on the title page. Throughout the book are engravings and maps: the creation of the world, Adam and Eve, the Binding of Isaac, Jacob meeting Esau, and many additional scenes from the Tanach. Wonderful copper engraving, large and folded, with miniatures of the works in the Temple (38x32cm). Two large folded maps of the “four great kingdoms” and “the Holy Land.” 32x70cm and 37x32cm.
