Lot of 2 illustrations in watercolor by the Israeli-Haredi artist David Bichman. Wonderful illustration of a Jewish water carrier in a town, and of a shoemaker at work. Both signed by the artist. Each inside the frame: 46x36cm. Outside frame: 32x22cm. The water carrier picture is missing the glass cover to the frame. Generally very good condition. Artist David Bichman’s paintings adorn books by many ultra-Orthodox writers, the most notable of which is a Torah comic book series he created with author Mordechai Halamish, the series combines Bible stories and sages’ tales, and has been very successful in the ultra-Orthodox sector. Bichman’s paintings also adorn the series of "Rabbi Mendel" books, and some of Chaim Welder’s children’s books and more. Every week, his humorous illustration appears in the Shabbat leaflet "Candle for Shabbat Table".
