Complete set of the Khak L’Yisrael, Lemberg 1888. Copy owned by Admor Rabbi Yochanan of Rachmastrivka, with handwritten notes and an important stamp.

Complete set, 5 volumes of the work Khak L’Yisrael “Also Yosef L’Khak with 30 additions”, printed by Avraham Yosef Segel. Stereotype printing of the 1875 edition. Two title pages for each section, all 5 volumes worn from use, worn bindings match the period, leather spines, many pages and title pages are detached, tears at the edges, probably partially missing (not checked), overall poor condition.

Stamp on one volume: “Rabbi Yochanan Twersky, 6 Sfat Emet Street…Jerusalem.” Each volume has the stamp: “Avraham Zvi Goldenfeld.” Body of the works has handwritten notes by the above Avraham Zvi, one place has an interesting note that “I saw this on a winter’s day when I studied in Munkatch.”

Admor Rabbi Yochanan Twersky of Rachmastrivka (1900-1982) was a descendant of Rabbi Nachum of Chernobyl (the Maor Einayim). He rejuvenated the Chassidic line after the Shoah. He studied under his father, the Admor Rabbi David, and moved with his family to Israel in 1926. After his father’s death in 1950 he was appointed his successor in Jerusalem.
