A collection of chiddushei halachot and aggadot by the gaon Rabbi Moshe Yaakov Dembizer. [2], 21, 40 leaves. Approbation by Rabbi Shimon Sofer of Krakow. Repaired title page with damage to the text on the back as well, tape on individual pages at the beginning. Old, detached binding, worn spine, light stains, otherwise overall good condition.

Blank first page and title page have stamps: “Meir Shapira, Av Beit Din and Ram in Pietrekov”, see below. Stamps of the library of the Chochmei Lublin yeshiva. Additional stamp with the name “Mordechai”, not checked thoroughly.

Rabbi Meir Shapiro of Lublin (1887-1934) was the son of Rabbi Yaakov Shimshon of Shatz. He promoted the idea of Daf Yomi, was a rabbi in a number of cities, including Lublin in 1930, where he established the majestic Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin. He was the nasi of the Agudat Yisrael in Poland and its representative in the Polish Sejm.
