Letter on an official postcard of the “Șimleuer Rebbe, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich of Șimleu, from 1924, addressed to the Jerusalem kabbalist Rabbi Asher Zelig Margaliyot, whom he calls “my beloved friend the chassid, etc.”. The letter was written entirely by hand by the rabbi and he requests that Rabbi Margaliyot explain to him about “those saying that every Charedi Jew must ask the government to erase his name from the National Register…”. He adds other things and refers the recipient to another long letter that he wrote also to the Saba Kadisha (Rabbeinu Shlomo Eliezer Elfandery) and then signs his name, adds more: “Drishat Shalom from me to Maran the Maharsha shlita” and then signs his name again: “Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich.” 14.5×9.5cm. Folding creases, overall very good condition.
