The author Rabbi Moshe Betzalel Luria (1835-1914) studied in the Volozhin yeshiva and became known as the Ilui of Sachobaliya after the town in which he was born. He was a student of the Natziv and was certified as a rabbi by Rabbi Yitzhak Elchanan Spector. A short time after his marriage he moved to serve as rabbi in the city of Wilon, and then served as rabbi in a number of cities until he became rabbi of Sobolk, where he served until his death. He is mentioned frequently in Shut books as the Rabbi of Sinai after the town in which he served for more than 32 years. He wrote dozens of books.
