Volume with the works of the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel Panet, first edition of these important works with tshuvot and pilpulim on the 4 sections of the Shulchan Aruch, all printed in Munkatch:
Sha’arei Tzedek on the Orech Hayyim, 1884: 79 leaves.
Sha’arei Tzedek on the Yoreh De’ah, 1883: 60, 20, [2] leaves.
Avnei Tzedek on Even HaEzer, 1885: [2], 70, [6] leaves in the original. This copy is missing 3 pages from the end of the subscriber list.
Mishpat Tzedek on Choshen Mishpat, 1884: 65 leaves.
Detached binding, no spine, paper a little fragile, pages detached, tears and moth damage at the edges, otherwise overall condition of the content is good.
Three of the four title pages of this volume have the stamp of “Shmuel Gross”. Rabbi Shmuel Gross of Krola, the “Aleh Shmuel”, was the son of Rabbi Refael of Barbarest, hy”d (1898-10th Sivan 1944) and the son-in-law of Rabbi Yeshaya Steiner, the Admor of Krestirer. He was a student of his cousin, Rabbi Haim Zvi Teitelbaum, in Sighet. In 1921 he served as Rabbi of Britshe (Bitshke) in the Zemplan district, and he was appointed rabbi and rosh yeshiva in Barbarest in place of his brother, Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda, who moved to Sighet. Toward the end of his life he moved to Krola to serve as rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva in place of the Admor of Satmar (Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum), who moved to Satmar. He was murdered in the Shoah.
