Lot 015:
The foundational work of mussar attributed to Rabbeinu Tam of the Tosafot, printed in Jerusalem in 1864. 48 leaves. Tears and stains, tears in the margins of the title page, binding is worn and defective, overall good condition.
The title page has the note of ownership: “Aharon Moshe ben Shapira”. Many notes of “Haim Yisrael Haltovsky in Jerusalem.” The well-known chassid Rabbi Aharon Moshe Shapira (1841-1913) was a follower of the Admor the Beit Aharon of Karlin. He merited great esteem from Admorim of Karlin and even after his death merited respect. He was a founder of the ohel of the Karliner chassidim in the Old City of Jerusalem, his father Rabbi Yaakov Kopil of Hevron was close to the Admor Chiddushei HaRim of Gur [and was called Yosef HaTzaddik by him because of his great experience]. Rabbi Aharon Moshe was the son-in-law of Rabbi Eliezer Natan Kahane Shapira (source: Di Bracha un Shtov, p. 265).
Rabbi Haim Yisrael Haltovsky was the son of the well-known Karliner chassid Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Haltovsky.
