Volume of mishnayot with the commentaries Maaseh Oreg, Pnei Zaken, and Atzei Eden, by the Admor Rabbi Yitzhak Isaac Yehuda Yehiel (Saprin) of Komarna. First edition, printed during the author’s lifetime by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Sperling and Rabbi Barish Luria (Lemberg 1862). Missing the title page—296 leaves. Last and first pages are detached, many repairs and tears to the first and last pages, some missing text. Tears, moth damage and stains, old binding and inscribed spine, overall fair condition. The Admor Rabbi Yitzhak Isaac Yehuda Yehiel (Saprin) of Komarna was the son of Rabbi Alexander and lived 1806-1874. He was the second and the most famous Admor of Komarna. After he lost his parents at age 12, he grew up with his uncle, his father’s brother, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Zidichov (the Sar Beit HaZohar). He studied under Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Aphtha, and under his uncle. He also travelled to the Chozeh of Lublin (who set him up with his wife), Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, and more. He became famous as a miracle worker and he had a large following. His works are a known segula for preservation.
