Typewritten proclamation on the official letterhead of the Beit Din Tzedek of the Ashkenazi Eida Charedit, from Elul 1965, calling “on behalf of Rabboteinu HaGeonim of the Badatz of Jerusalem, wake up Jerusalem! The wounded voice of Shabbat cries out to us…we have been witnesses to a nightmare…dozens of Egged buses [addition of the word “and more” handwritten in pen, probably by Rav Epstein]…transporting passengers to beaches…the Jerusalem community must raise its voice in protest…don’t give money to the destruction of the Torah and Shabbat…by ‘Egged’ and also the taxis…” The letter is signed by the Ra’avad Rabbi Pinchas Epstein and the dayanim Rabbi Yisrael Yitzhak HaLevi Raisman and Rabbi David HaLevi Jungreiz. Folding creases and stains from the staples. Overall good condition.
