Knesset Yisrael on Pirkei Avot, section 3 on the third chapter. Bears masechet avot with Rashi’s commentary around it, the work Midrash Shmuel by Rabbi Shmuel Ozido and the exegesis Knesset Yisrael by Rabbi Yisrael Goldman of Grosvardin (first edition of this section). [4], 132 leaves. Original front binding has been repaired. A few stains and light tears, overall very good condition.
Many stamps of ownership of Rabbi Dov Yehuda Dayana, a rabbi in Slotzk and then Canarsie, Brooklyn, the son of Rabbi Zundel of Salant (founder of the Mussar movement and rabbi of Rabbi Yisrael Salanter, as well as father-in-law of Rabbi Shmuel Salant, rabbi of Jerusalem). Handwritten notes and corrections throughout the book.
