Lot of three “She’arim” out of the Ari, from the writings of his talmid muvhak Rabbi Chaim Vittal.

1. Shaar Chamishi (5th), Shaar HaMitzvot. With notes from Rabbi Zeev Wolff Ashkenazi. Jerusalem 1905.
2. Shaar Shvii (7th), Shaar Ruach HaKodesh, Jerusalem 1912. With map of the 48 tzerufim, folded. Wonderful illustrations of Jerusalem. Additional jacket title page on green paper.
3. Shaar Shmini (8th), Shaar HaGilgulim. For the first time with notes and exegeses from the gaon kabbalist Rabbi Sasson Becher Moshe. Jerusalem 1903.
In 2 volumes. Various defects, overall good condition. Not checked thoroughly for elisions. The title pages have the stamp of the Eshel, with his old and new family names.

Rabbi Ephraim Shmuel Lerner (1879-1962) was the son of Rabbi Mordechai, he served as rosh yeshiva of the Ashkenazi kabbalistic yeshiva Sha’ar HaShamayim in Jerusalem, was a founder of the Sha’arei Chesed neighborhood there, and founded the Gra synagogue there and served there as chazan for many years.
