Sefer Chukei Da’at, two sections, an important work on Yoreh Deah, question-answer format to help both one’s understanding and memory. By the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Chaim Zheshevsky. First edition – Warsaw, 1871. Separate title page for section II. [2], 77 leaves. [1], 90 leaves. Approbations by the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, the Shoel Umeshiv of Lviv, the Malbim and more.
Ancient binding with a leather spine, almost completely detached. The title page and some other leaves are detached. Moth perforations and damage. Much wear. Stains. Poor condition.
On the first title page, a stamp: "משה פאנעט בהגאון מהו" מנחם מענדל זצללה"ה דעעש" – the Admor Rabbi Moshe Panet of Deyzh (1843-1903) the son of the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel Panet. Was a Rav and the third Admor of Deyzh, succeeding his father who passed away in 1885. Was a disciple of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz and of his son, Rabbi Yechezkel Sheraga of Shinova.
3 ownership stamps of the Admor Rabbi Yitzchak Yechiel Panet, the son of the third Admor of Deyzh, Rabbi Moshe Panet. After his father’s passing in 1903, Rabbeinu succeeded him as president of Kupat Eretz Yisrael of the Ahavat Zion Kollel of Zibenbergen. Served as Admor in Deyzh alongside his brother the Knesset Yechezkel.
On the flyleaf, a pencil notation: "הלל מאיר בן רחל לאה" – not studied. A single gloss inside the book.
