Lot 223:
Hilchot Rav Alfas, the Rif, on Bava Mezti’ah, printed alongside/in the Bavli Talmud of the press of Yissachar Bak and Avraham Yitzchak Menkis – Lemberg, 1864. 198, 48 leaves. In this copy, yhe title page and last leaf are missing. Ancient, elegant binding, with gilt embossment, blemished and loose. Fine margins. Minor bright stains. Good overall condition.
On the half-title, a foreign stamp with the name: "Mechel Hager Wiznitz Bukovina" indicating the copy was owned by the Admor Rabbi Yechiel Michl Hager of Horodanka, the eleventh son of the Admor Rabbi Baruch Hager, author of the Imrei Baruch of Vizhnitz and the brother of the Admor the Ahavat Yisrael of Vizhnitz. Was the son-in-law of his brother the Admor Rabbi Chaim Hager of Antinia.
