Lot 208:
"וכל הרבנים והחכמים אמתיים עמדו לימיני" (And all the rabbis and true sages have supported me). Lengthy letter with reference to the calims about the Yerushalmi being forged, handwritten by the Jerusalem forger of Yerushalmi Kodashim himself – Rabbi Shlomo Friedlander, addressed to Rabbi Chaim Brody – Satmar, 1910.
Apparently, Rabbi Chaim Brody, who himself was an expert on manuscripts, presented arguments against the authenticity of the manuscripts on which Rabbi Friedlander relied and claimed that the delay in the printing of the following volumes of the series derived from the fact that the authenticity of the Yerushalmi discovered by Rabbi Friedlander was being questioned. Rabbi Friedlander rejects the claim, writing to Rabbi Brody: "אהובי הרב החכם… סיבת איחור הדפסת כרך הנוכחי הוא, לא מפני הקנאים והנרגנים שפגעו בו, כי ת"ל אפסו תמו כמוץ לפני רוח, וכל הרבנים הגאונים והחכמים אמתיים עמדו לימני…". Rabbi Friedlander tries to convey that everything is still running smoothly and nothing has hurt the sales of the Talmud Yerushalmi: "והפיצו אותו מקצה הארץ ועד קצהו (בלעמברג מכרו הרבנים והחכמים מאה ושלשים ספרים ובקראקא כפלים ככה) ודברי הנרגנים עוד היה להועיל…".
The letter is written in Sephardic script and signed Shlomo Yehuda Algazi, another one of the trademarks of the strange genius Rabbi Shlomo Friedlander, the forger of the Yerushalmi, who alternately used Sephardic and Ashkenazic script and signed his name as Algazi or Friedlander/
