Lot 197:
Volume with four books by Rabbi Eliezer Deutsch of Bonyhad, one of the leading disciples of Rabbi Yehuda Assad, the Maharam Esh, Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried and more and one of the leading rabbis of Hungary in his generation.
This volume contains three sections of his book Tevu’ot Hasadeh on Talmudic Halachot and Sugyot, bound with his book Tzemach Hasadeh on Agunot – first editions:
1. Tzemach Hasadeh, printed in Paks, 1917. [6], 58 leaves.
2. Tevu’ot Hasadeh, section III, printed in Lemberg, 1897. [13], 111, [1] leaves.
3. Tevu’ot Hasadeh, section V, printed in Paks, 1902. [84], 80, [2] leaves.
4. Tevu’ot Hasadeh, section VI, printed in Paks, 1904. [10], 77, [1] leaves.
Appearing on the title page of the third section and at the end of the introduction of this section is the author’s stamp. Two handwritten corrections – possibly by the author. An additional comment in different pen on the margin of the sheet.
An additional stamp throughout the book: מרדכי יהודה שלמה זלמן וויזניצער אב"ד דקה"י אראד יצ"ו.
Moth perforations and damage. Stains. Tears, taping and varied blemishes, affecting the text. Uneven edges to some leaves. Most of the book is in good overall condition. Old binding.
Rabbi Eliezer Chaim Deutsch (1850-1916) Av Beit Din of Bonyhad, the son of Rabbi Avraham. A disciple of the leading Hungarian rabbis including Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried, whom he helped write his monumental book the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch. Received his rabbinic Semicha from the Admor the Yitav Lev of Siget and Rabbeinu the Maharam Schick. Author of Tevu’ot Hasadeh, Chelkat Hasadeh, Pri Hasadeh, Tzemach Hasadeh and Duda’ei Hasadeh.
