Shetar Ketubah handwritten on the pearly script of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Kreiswirth who served as the mythological Gaon Av Beit Din of Antwerp. Contains the version of the Shetar Ketubah, signatures of the witnesses and his handwritten signature: "חיים קרייס ווירטה אב"דקק אנטווערפען מסדר קדושין".
Folding leaf, size when opened 21.5X28 cm. Minor, nright stains. Good condition.
Rabbi Cיaim Kreiswirth (1920-2001) was the Rav of Antwerp and founder and head of the Merkaz HaTorah Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Born in Galicia in Voynich, his father was Rabbi Avraham Yosef, who served as Mara DeAtra. Studied in the Maharam Shapira’s yeshiva, Chochmei Lublin, and became known as the Ilui of Krakow. Moved to Eretz Yisrael in 1941, and married the daughter of Rabbi Avraham Grodzinsky, the Mashgiach of the Slobodka Yeshiva. For years he lived in Israel, until he moved to the USA to serve as head of the Beit Midrash LeTorah in Chicago. In 1954 he was appointed the Rav of the Kehillat Machzikei HaDat community in Antwerp, where he served until he died.
