"זה הספר שייך להרב המופלא ומופלג פאר מקדושים, מגזע תרשישים, שלשלת היוחסין, כקש"ת מו"ה ר’ דוד לייב שליט"א טווערסקי".
The Admor Rabbi David Leib Twersky, the son of the Admor Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heshil of Skvira, the son and successor of the Admor Rabbi Yitzchak of Skvira (the son of the Maggid of Chernobyl). The Admor Rabbi David Leib married the daughter of his older brother the Admor Rabbi Yosef Meir Twersky of Machnovka.
After the revolution in Russia, Rabbeinu who wanted to live closer to his family members in Machnovka, acceded to the request of the Skvira Chassidim in Kazatin, Ukraine, to come and serve as Admor in their town. However, in 1829, after an attack by gang members on the town, he became sick and eventually passed away.
The Admor Rabbi David Leib had a large library that included religious, wisdom, science and history books. His vast knowledge of nature and science was famed.
See more about him in the book by his son Rabbi Yehoshua Twersky, Bachatzar Hatzaddik, Tel Aviv, 1979.
