Sefer Toldot Adam, chiddushei torah on sugiyot of shas, a work by Rabbi Moshe David Ashkenazi, the Av Beit Din of Töltéstava, father-in-law of the Admor Yeitev Lev of Sighet and father of Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi of Töltéstava (father-in-law of the Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet and grandfather of the Admorim of Satmar, Sanz, and more). The author moved to Israel in 1845 and around a year later published this book at the holy printing of the student of the Rahak of Ruzhin and Rabbi Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev, Rabbi Yisrael Bak, who had moved to Israel and re-established his printing shop in Jerusalem. Antique binding made of leather by hand with inscriptions, including a stamping of the name of Rabbi Nachum Dov Beer Friedman of Sadigura and a mention of the Chassid “Yaakov Yosef ben Chay L’Zikaron”. Stains, worming holes and wear to the binding. The back of the binding has an Ex Libris of the “Library of the publisher Nachum Dov Friedman of Sadigura”. The binding leaf is marbled paper, the page before has notes of ownership of Rabbi Nachum Bernio and the title page has his handwriting: Nachalat Avotai, with his signature, stamps of ownership of “Nachalat Avotai” as well. Library stamps.

“Nachalat Avotai” – A sacred inscription that transmits awe to those who hold it, represents that the book was in the library of the Admor Rabbi Nachum Bernio of Sadigura, testifying that the book came, before their printing, from copies held by Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin or his sons.
