Early period, extremely rare breastplates for miniature torahs. 1. Handwork, hammering and engraving with a chisel, plants and flowers. Bears a dedication “Yaakov ben HaRav Zvi Hirsch in 1710.” From among the earliest known examples in Galicia-Ukraine. Defects, size: 14x12cm, generally good condition. 2. Handwork, hammering and engraving with a chisel, exceptional figure of an eagle around plants and flowers. Bears an inscription “Yitzhak Isaac ben HaRav Ephraim…1804.” Galicia-Ukraine, size: 13x11cm, excellent condition. 3. Breastplate for a sefer torah, handwork with hammering and engraving with a chisel, plants and flowers. Bears an inscription “Yehuda the youngest son of David Katz.” Seems to be from Galicia-Ukraine, 18th century. 2 holes for a chain. Light defects. Size: 9x11cm. Generally very good condition. The above items were brought to auction from a private collection.
