Buyer's premium:

Casting and cutting worok of a holy implement, additional Jewish symbols. These amulets were common in Jewish communities in Italy for guarding babies, and often relatives tended not to have any stamps on them. Amulets of this type were made in two pieces that were welded together, inside them they would put a charm from parchment. The amulet before us is not stamped at all, and the two parts are attached to wood blocks. Over time, pieces have gone missing and others have been welded on. Max height of one piece (without the wood block): 13cm; the other is 10cm. Generally good condition. Brought to sale from a private collection.
