Official letter from the Admor from the period when he served as Rosh Yeshiva. With his signature (in the local language, which is very rare) and stamp. It was given to a student athe Beit Yisrael yeshiva. The Admor of Vişeu(1885-1941) was the eldest son of the Admor Ahavat Yisrael of Vizhnitz. After his marriage he served as Ram of the Beit Yisrael yeshiva in Vizhnitz, and then became Rosh yeshiva. In 1908 he was appointed Rabbi of Vizhnitz. At the start of World War I he joined his father and the rest of his family in their immigration to Grosvardin (Transylvania). The Beit Yisrael yeshiva was closed for a time, and later re-established first in the same place and then in Israel, by the Admor’s brother, Rabbi Eliezer Hager, the Damesek Eliezer. It is now called Yeshivat Beit Yisrael v’Damesek Eliezer. In 1921 Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager was appointed rabbi of Vişeu, and he was the rosh yeshiva of the yeshiva he founded there. It was the largest in Romania at the time, and at its peak had around 400 students. His father died in 1936, after which he began to serve as Admor and adopted the title the Admor of Vişeu. He still led the yeshiva and even gave shiurim. 29cm, good condition, signs of folding.
