7-line letter sent in 1944 to Rabbi Shmuel Aharon Shatzdarovitzky. Small paper, signs of folding. Generally good condition. Rabbi Zeev Adleman (1914-2000) grew up in Brisk and was close to the Griz Soloveitchik, and studied with Grayil Steinman at the yeshiva of the gaon Rabbi Moshe Sokolovsky, the Imrei Moshe. Rabbi Zeev bar Avraham was nicknamed Rav Velvel, and was a key figure of Bnei Brak. He fasted his entire life on Mondays and Thursdays, and was in a ta’anit from speaking from Rosh Chodesh Elul until Yom Kippur, as well as Thursday and Shabbat, and Friday until having finished Shnayim Mikra. Didn’t go to bed except for Friday night. He would only nap occasionally in the chair in his study. He was very modest.
