Chiddushim on the Torah by Rabbi Eliezer ben Yehuda Ra’avad of Pinchov (Poland), printed in Yasnitz. Missing the cover and first pages bearing the endorsements and introduction. 1-127, 3 pages. Top page has stamps of Rabbi Yosef Yisrael Deutsch, Av Beit Din of Yarmuth, also known as the Ben Gorni, son of the Goran David, plus the stamp of his son Rabbi Haim Aharon David Deutsch, his successor in Yarmouth. On the back of the binding is an interesting copy “from the Gaon Avraham of Slonim” handwritten by Rabbi Haim Aharon Deutsch. Rabbi Yosef Yisrael Deutsch (1845-1927) was a student of the Chatam Sofer and rabbi of Yarmouth. He served as rabbi and rosh yeshiva for 50 years. His son (1898-1944), the Tevu’at Goran, was son-in-law of Rabbi Yeshaya Zilberstein of Weizen. He succeeded his father. Was rabbi to the Admor of Erlau. One page partially disconnected, old cloth binding, many stains, no moth holes, generally good condition.
