Letter on lined notebook paper, written entirely by hand and signed by the Admor of Shatz, Rabbi Haim Hager (1910-1977), son of the Admor Rabbi Moshe of Shatz (son of the Admor the Imrei Baruch of Vizhnitz) and son-in-law of Rabbi Shlomo Zalmina of Roshkov, and in his second marriage son-in-law to Rabbi Shlomo Procter of Sief. He established his beit midrash in Haifa and later moved to Bnei Brak, where he is buried. He moved to Israel in 1950 and immediately wrote this emotional letter, in which he pleads for the support of rabbis who have survived the Shoah. He writes: “four months ago we arrived in our Holy Land naked and without anything, I have no means of earning money for me or my family…” He ends with some blessings and signs. Filing holes with damage to text, generally good condition.
