Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Horwitz of Yanov, the “Beit Aharon”, was born in 1907 to Rabbi Aharon, he was a chassid of Admorei Ruzhin, a student of the Gaon Rabbi Meshulam Rata, son-in-law of his uncle Rabbi Avraham Schechter of Uziran, where he settled. He was appointed rabbi of Potik-Galicia (against the background of the debate with Rabbi Baruch Zeiger, who was the son-in-law of the previous rabbi, Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Schwartz). He was saved from the Shoah, and then served as a rabbi in Khotin and Prague in 1945. In his second marriage he was the son-in-law of Rabbi Shimon Koppel Tzrosky of Peshtborz, rabbi of the Nobel camp near Paris, and brother-in-law of Rabbi Yitzhak Orlonsky (who was a rabbi in the camp). In 1949 he arrived in New York and became a rabbi there. His son, Rabbi Shmuel, was a gabbai of the Admor of Babov.
