פריט 169:
Sefer Halachot Gedolot, a foundational halachic work organized according to the Talmud Bavli. The work is quoted frequently in the works of the Rishonim. [1], 83 pages. Moth holes, stains, leather spine and corners, generally good condition.
The title page has a note of ownership: “Meir Heller”, see below. Long note about the work’s author, which appears as a note on the title page, as well as penciled corrections in the body of the work.
Rabbi Meir Heller (Semnitzer) of Jerusalem (1878-1939) was the son of Rabbi Moshe, a student and great kana’I of Jerusalem opposed to Rav Kook. He sent letters about his opposition throughout Lithuania, a fact mentioned in a letter to Rabbi David Idel Haim Bengis of Livui.
