„Neunzehn Briefe über Judenthum“, Nineteen Letters on Judaism, in German, the first book written by the fighter on behalf of Orthodox Judaism and Germany Jewry, Rabbi Shimshon Refael Hirsch (the Rashar Hirsch). [2], 111, 8 pages. Published under the pseudonym “Ben Uziel”, the work takes the form of a dialogue between “Binyamin”, a young Jew struggling and debating life’s complexities, and “Rabbi Naftali”, an Orthodox Jewish rabbi who straightens him out and shows him the derech. This work was the breakthrough of Rashar Hirsch’s philosophy, because of which he became famous and his philosophy became a benchmark of Germany Jewry for the maintenance of the orthodox lifestyle in the face of reformation in the 19th century. Repaired title page, stains, overall good condition.
