“Regimen Sanitatis des Maimonides fur den Sultan El-Malik Al-Afdhal—Faksimile der Ausgabe Florenz nach dem Exemplar der Bayerischen Staats-Bibliothek mit einem”—Latin translation of the text of the Rambam from the original incunabulum, written for the son of the Sultan. In it, the Rambam suggests ways of improving one’s health and ways to treat symptoms of sicknesses experienced by the son, including digestive issues, hemorrhoids, headaches, heart weaknesses, depression, and more. Printed in Heidelberg, 1931.Numbered 102 out of 350 copies. Introduction by the well-known bibliographer and historian Aaron Freimann (relative of the bibliographer Steinschneider and his successor, served for 35 years as the librarian at the municipal library in Frankfurt until he was fired by the Nazis). He immigrated to the US in 1939 and worked at the municipal library in New York. Generally good condition—original binding, missing the spine, slight staining.
