First section by Rabbi Bechai HaDayan HaSefardi, with commentary ‘Merapeh LaNefesh” copied into the local language but using Hebrew lettering, as was the custom of the time, printed by the Shapira brothers, grandsons of the Slavita Rav. Cover with red ink, 21cm size. Reinforcements on the cover, new binding. Light moth damage, generally good condition.

Third section from the Five Books of Moses, printed by the grandsons of the Slavita Rav, Rabbi Hanina Lifa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Shapira, in Zhitomir. Chumash with Unkelos translation, Rashi’s commentary, and “Ivrei Teitsch”—translation into Yiddish, at the end is also Shir Hashirim, the siddur for Shabbat Shacharit and mussaf (Sefardi nusach)—some pages are missing from the siddur—and a table of amulets and zodiac signs for 5 and twenty years. Two covers, various signatures of ownership. Binding is worn and missing, wear from time and light damage, mainly at the end of the book. Generally good condition.

Section 1 on Genesis and section 2 on Exodus-Deuteronomy, chiddushim on the Torah using chassidut, by Rabbi Haim Tirer of Chernowitz, printed by Rabbi Hanina Lifa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Shapira, grandsons of the Rav of Slavita. 294 pages, 23cm. First section without binding, not cover page. First pages missing, moth damage and tape on pages, generally ok condition.

For Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, first section—from the first editions of the printings of the Shapira brothers in Zhitomir. “According to the minhag in Russia and Lithuania, Poland, with commentary of Hebrew and Yiddish,” printed by Rabbi Hanina Lifa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Shapira, grandsons of the Slavita Rav, in Zhitomir. 164 leafs [332 pages] 25cm, moth damage, not bound. Taping, stains, and damage from moths.

With translation to Yiddish, at the end are the Psalms with a special cover. Pritned by Rav Aryeh Leib Shapira, grandson of the Rav of Slavita, in Zhitomir 1851. First cover is missing. First and last pages are missing. Moth damage, torn pages.

On agadot of the Shas, three sections from Masechet Brachot until Masechet Nidah, printed by Rabbi Shmuel Avraham Shapira of Slavita. 3 volumes: [6], 260 page; 298 page; 300 page. 23cm. Light blue and white paper. Much moth damage, pages disconnected, stains and much wear from time. Worn bindings, missing and disconnected. Generally bad to ok condition.

Composed by the Tana Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, first edition printed by Rabbi Moshe Shapira of Slavita. Cover page has red lettering; light blue paper, the two copies complement to get to a complete copy of this book, many repeated pages. Moth damage, tears in some of the pages. The condition of the pages varies, generally ok to good condition.

By the Maharal of Prague, his thoughts on philosophers. 96 pages. Missing the cover and first page. Last page is torn with damage to the text. Without binding. Generally good condition.

1. Second edition Sefer Takanot, by Or Torah Mishmorim. Jerusalem 1904 [on the cover: 5607]. On the last page there are signatures of the members of the company approving the addition of a new member. According to A.M. Luntz: “Beit HaMidrash Menachem Zion, according to many the ‘Old Beit HaMidrash,’ stands at the northern edge of the Hurva courtyard. This beit midrash is small but it is filled with sanctity for the old. There is a big library in it. There many people learn all day in groups and as individuals. The Mishmorim group “Or Torah” has its members learn there, half the night one group, half the night another, in shifts. Founded in 1837 when the opportunity fell to the Ashkenazim to redeem the courtyard from the Arabs who had held onto it since 1721, by the order of Ali Pasha in Egypt (when Israel was under his control).” [2], 17, [1] page, 18cm. Key and introduction to the wisdom of the kabbalah by Rabbi Yosef Haim the Ben Ish Hai. Printed by Levi and partners in Jerusalem in 1911 with the introduction of Rabbi Yaakov, the son of the Ben Ish Hai. Generally good condition, moth marks and light wear, binding is disconnected.

And Darchei Yesharim by Rabbi Zecharya Mendel Miroslav, a student of his uncle Rabbi Shmelke and Rabbi Pinchas Horwitz the Hafla’ah, student of Rabbi Elimelech of Luzhansk, who published his rabbi’s book No’am Elimelech together with his son, Rabbi Elazer of Luzhansk.

Printed by Zuckerman in Jerusalem 1926. 2. Same as above, section 2, with endorsements of Rabbi Yosef Haim Zonenfeld—rabbi of Jerusalem, rabbi of the author Rabbi Haim Shaul Davich and more. On the first page is something written by an unknown hand. Printed by Zuckerman in Jerusalem 1928. 3. Sha’arei Derech HaChaim, third section of the same book. One of the foundational texts of kabbalah of the Rashash. Composition by the Israeli kabbalist Rabbi Haim di la Rosa (1786 – ?), a student of the head of the Beit El yeshiva, Rabbi Shalom Sharabi. Cover page is disconnected, with signature of ownership: “Masoud hacohen El-Hadad.”. Rabbi Masoud Hacohen Elchadad (sometimes abbreviated Rmh"h;) 1820 - was a great commentator on the Talmud Kabbalist. Head of Beit El Synagogue. At the beginning of the 20th century. Stains, light wearing over time. Original binding is a little worn and disconnected. Generally good condition.
