Raziel HaMalach, second edition—Horodna, 1793.
Most ancient kabbalistic text, according to tradition given to Adam by the angel Raziel, after he was exiled from the Garden of Eden. The book before us is tried and tested as a segula book for preserving one’s home from fires and damage, as mentioned on the book’s cover: “It is a wonderful segula for whomever purchases it with his own money, when in trouble it will rescue you quickly…and so all of Israel have spent silver, and gold, to buy this holy book even at a high price.” In the book are kabbalistic illustrations and amulets. From the dedicatory stickers: “The book is from the library of RavShlomo Rosenzweig, head of the Johannesburg Beit Din.” Complete copy, rare. Stamps, stains, upper margins are cut.
