Long letter in which the Rebbe mentions an internal dispute within Chabad (“peace between them is more important than anything”) and worries about the construction of a mikvah on a kibbutz—Iyar 1956
Typewritten. In the letter, the Rebbe asks Rav Yodasin to approach the National Center for Family Purity to ask for an update. Rabbi Alexander Sander Yodasin - one of the most important Chabad rabbis in the Holy Land, rabbi of the Hasidic community in Jaffa for nearly a century, a member of the Beit Din and author of books on the Shas and the Tanya. He was born in Belarus and studied at the Tomchei Temimim yeshiva in his youth under the Rashab. After the First World War, he established a branch of Tomchei Temimim in Kherson, Ukraine and was ordained by Rabbi David Zvi Chen. The Kabbalist Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Schneerson - the father of the last Rabbi of Chabad was the mesader kedushin at his wedding. He was in close contact with the Rebbe and was repeatedly banned by the Soviets for his activities on his mission. He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1934and settled in Tel Aviv where he was later appointed the rabbi of the Chabad community in Jaffa, which he filled for nearly a century.
