Sefer Hasidim to Rabbu Yehuda HaHasid. With the commentary of U’BritOlam for Yosef David Azulai. Printed by Rabbi Chanina Lipa and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel Shapira, grandsons of the Slavita Rabbi. The book is attributed to Rabi Yehuda HaHasid, of the greatkabbalists of Ashkenaz, and known for his piousness, asceticism and also his testament – ‘testament of Rabi Yehuda HaHasid’ which contains many leaderships, whose origins don’t stem from the Talmud. Printed for the first time in Bologna in 1487. The books that were printed in the template of Slavita, are known to be of unique holiness, the printing tool and letters were soaked in the mikve before the printing begun. It is well known that possessing a book printed in the print of Slavita brings about virtues of success and protection of the home. Rabi Dov Ber Schneersohn (1773-1827), The second Admor in the dynasty of Admori Habad, the successor of his father, the Admor Zaken. He succeeded his father in every field, cared for his brothers who suffered in Imperial Russia, and propagate the teachings of his father which he continues to expand, explain and commentate on. The second name of Hasidut Habad – Lubavitch, it is named after the town he has chosen as his place of residence, which was also the center of the Hassidic practice for over one hundred years. In the upper section there are two images, on the right – the Western Wall, on the left – an image of the Old City and underneath it the phrase ‘Midrash of Shlomo’. Birkat HaChama is one of the blessingsrecited upon witnessing a rare sight, recited when seeing the sun at the start of a 28 year cycle, in which, according to tradition, the sun returns to its original spot from the time the world was created, in the same hour and day of the week as in the creation of the world. In the center of the page is a section of Tehilim, and around it are the incantations. At the bottom of the page there are images of the western wall and Har Zion. At the head of the book there is an ornamented cover page: “By the decree of ministers Peitro and Lorinzo Bragdini… Shana Tova Leprat Katan”.At the beginning of every Chumash the first letter is ornamented. Printed by Bragadini, and sold in Kontresim for two weeks in order to cover the expenses of the printing (see Taklitor bibliography factory, listed 0182290). This Vol. is especially thick (almost 1,000 pages) and includes 5 sections from the Rambam: Hafla’a, Zraim, Avoda, Korbanot and Tehara. Without cover pages. Bound with an impressive, original leather binding with stamps, that was preserved and preserved the body of the book. The spine and last page are professionally restored. Pages 1-6 are detached. Sefer Hamitzvot LeHarambam, with commentaries by the Ramban. These are the books that ultimately brought about the decree of the great burning of books in Italy in the year 1553. This copy is of the Mishne Torah LeHarambam, printed by the Christian printer Elvisi Bragadini, who opened in the same year, 1550, his printing house for Hebrew printing, proofread by Hamahram Padova, of the great Italian scholars, to which he added his own revisions. Antonio Justinian printed in the same year, the Rambam, and copied part of the revisions of Haram Padova from the Bragadini edition. Hamahram Padova reached out to the great Rabbis, lead by Rabbi Moshe son of YisraelIsserles and they decreed a boycott on the sale of any editions printed by Justinian. Following this dispute, the two owners of the printing house turned to Pope Julius III, claiming that the other printing house was printing books that condemn Christianity. The main complaint was about the Talmud which was printed by Justinian between the years 1546-1551. Which ultimately led to the massive burning of books in Italy on the first day of Rosh HaShana in the year 1553. 39 “cm. Not bound. Stains. Moth holes. Detached pages. Overall good condition.

This copy starts before section 6. Throughout the copy there are comments and annexations in the margins. The writing is consistent. Part of the writing is in spoken Jewish Hebrew. Moitsure stains.
