Basel, 1630. By Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Rofeh (Yashar) of Candia. | Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Delmegido (1591-1655), known as the Yashar of Candia, was the grandson of R”a Delmegido (the Bekhinat HaDat). Was a rabbi, philosopher, and studied medicine and science. Among other things, studied with Galileo Galilei. For a number of years was the personal doctor of the Prince of Lithuania, Janos Radzivil, when he also studied other sciences and medicine, while at night studying Talmud and kabbalah. At the end of his life he was the Av Beit Din and Ram of Hamburg and Amsterdam. There were those who claimed that his reference to kabbalah was negative (as a result of his grandfather, who was opposed to kabbalah), but HaHida praises him, and says in the introduction to Metzaref L’Chochma that later rabbis read him widely. | Elegant binding, thick & quality pages. Lisbon Tanach, 1482 – pretty facsimile edition.

Wonderful facsimile edition of the Lisbon Tanach manuscript, considered one of the finest and most sophisticated illustrated manuscripts. Decorated in a variety of colors and golden decorations, done by the sofer Shmuel Even Musa of Lisbon. Includes the Five Books of Torah, a list of the 613 mitzvot organized according to parshah, and more. The facsimile was done according to the manuscript housed at the British Library, number 2626-2628. The book is printed by high-quality paper. Published by Nahar-Mishkal and the British Library—London. Printed in Israel, 1988. At the end of the book is a long bilingual explanation on the culture of manuscripts in Jewish Portugal, by Gavriel Sad-Reina, translated by Shalom Tzabar. An Ancient Prayer Book with Handwritten Charts at the End for Calculation of the Jewish Calendar – Copy of the Russian Refusenik Rabbi Aharon Rabinowitz

An ancient prayer book with over 1000 pages, which encompass the entire Jewish calendar, prayers, laws and more. At the end of the prayer book are five additional handwritten leaves, which contain four charts for calculation of the Jewish calendar in order to fix the date of Jewish festivals. On the first leaf of the book are ownership stamps of "Rabbi Aharon Rabinowitz, a former refusenik in Russia, Rabbi and spiritual mentor son of the holy Gaon of Lachishan – Suprasul – Bialystok". Additional, earlier, ownership inscriptions, "Avraham David Gelberman, Klausenberg, 1895" as well as yartzheit inscriptions in scribal handwriting from 1886. The prayer book is bound in original leather binding. | The binding is partially detached. Stains, worming holes. Ma’avar Yavak (Amsterdam, 18th century).

112 chapters (“Yavak” in gematriya) including prayers for a sick person, his family, and those around him when he dies and is buried. The book has a great deal of influence in the field of psikat halacha regarding the afterlife of a Jew. Divided into four articles: Sfatei Tzedek, Sfat Emet, Sfatei Ranenut, and Anan HaKetoret (Pitum HaKetorat, Korban Ta’anit, Minchat Aharon). By the Kabbalist Rabbi Aharon Berachya of Modena (died on the 25th of Tammuz, 1639), born in Modena (Italy), studied with Rabbi Hillel HaChassid of Modena and Rabbi Menachem Azarya of Pano, was among the followers of Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh di Modena and Rabbi Yisrael Sarug.
