Prayers for the whole year according to the nussach of the Ariza”l, with hanhagot and rules set by the Admor HaRav Shneor Zalman Maladi ba’al HaTanya, with “Torah Or” and “Sha’arei Tfila”; 2 sections (3 title pages). 189. 28, 60, 77 page. 21cm. First title page is in red ink and blue. 2 sections in one volume, excellent condition, with new fabric binding.

1. “HaMaggid” the first prophets, Rashi’s commentary and Ashkenazi translation by ‘Agudat Shmuel’, Amsterdam 1699, without a title page, thick tome, pages 2-549, moth damage, leather binding (the back side is disconnected), 11cm in size. 2. “HaMaggid” (same as above), Ezra and Teri Asher. Amsterdam 1699. (1) 2-346 (2) page. Excellent condition, old leather binding. At the end, ‘Slicha’ and lament of the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash. Size 11cm. 3. Siddur and Machzor for the whole year, Venice 1640s (missing the title page), at the end is written by Yitzhak Luzzatto, from page 3-208. Generally good condition, new leather binding with a nice metal clip to close. Size 8.4cm. 4. “Tikunei Shabbat” from the Ariza”l, Livorno 1784, printed by Daniel and Shmuel Saadon, 128 page (missing the last page). Old leather binding, size 8.7cm. Good condition, light defect in the title page without damage to the text. 5. Psalms, Livorno 1919, with instructions for use and prayers at the end. Title page and pages 5-6 are damaged and missing, the rest is in good condition, pages are gilded and decorated on the back, nice red binding, size 8.6cm. 6. Siddur “Beit Tfila” Livorno 1850, prayers for weekdays, Shabbat, and chag, good condition, light defect on the title page, loose binding. 7. Siddur “Beit Tfila” (same as above), Livorno 1859, generally good condition, a bit of wear on the pages, original leather binding, size 9cm. Important and rare lot.

Lot 4 sections of the book “Beit Eked Sefarim” by Haim Dov Friedberg, Tel Aviv 1971.

Complete set of the 4 sections of the book “Beit Eked Sefarim” including the bibliography of 50,000 different books in the Hebrew literary pantheon in general and names of Hebrew and Ashkenazi Jewish books specifically and in other languages, from the years 1474 until 1950, the names of their authors, their content, names of the cities in which they were printed, the year of their publication and their number of pages, with indices. First edition was printed in 1928-1931 and was in two volumes and included books printed until 1931. Before us we have the second, corrected and completed edition and has books added until the year 1950, in four volumes, double what was in the first edition. Excellent condition.

1. “Doresh Tov” book of numbered drashot seasoned with reproach, with articles for the month of Tishrei, with the book “Sha’arei Aruka,” drashot on different issues, organized alphabetically, by the Kabbalist HaGaon HaRav Yaakov Abukhatzira, the “Abir Yaakov,” Jerusalem 1884. First edition, 153 pages. Excellent condition, with original binding. At the start of the book is a list of ownership, handwritten, of “Shmuel Azoulay,” and on the first page is a handwritten signature “Yaakov Hai Abikazhr” with different stamps of ownership. 2. Invitation to a Bar Mitzvah from the Kabbalist HaRav Yitzhak Abukhatzira, the ‘Baba Khaki’ to his son HaRav Yehiel Abukhatzira Shlit”a. With inscriptions in the ‘Baba Khaki’s handwriting. Ramla 1958. Set of 2 important and rare books from 17-18th centuries

1. Questions and answers, Damascus, Eliezer Halak, first section, named “Hesheev Rav Eliezer v’Si’ach Sade” Debates, casuistry on halacha, the second section “Damascus Eliezer” has separate title pages. By the Rav Eliezer Zalman Lifshitz, Neuwied 1749, 30 (1) 30 page. (Winograd Neuwied 8, 9), one of the few books printed in Neuwied. Only edition. Rare. 2 sections in excellent condition, 2 title pages have especially nice engravings. Stains, stamps of ownership, new binding, many certificates of approval. 2. Sefer “Meir Einei Chachamim,” additions to the Shas, Frankfurt-am-Mein 1709, (1) 159 page. Many writings and signatures, amongst which are “Shimon Hess” with many notes that the book was owned by the “Gaon Mehorar Shimon Hess” An important book, the title page has engravings of nice flowers. The title page was repaired, not professionally, the first page is wrinkled and damaged, the rest is in good condition. Stamp of the “Etz Haim” company in Paris.

Hebrew and French side by side, good condition, pretty with gilded page cuttings, stains. 3. “Likutei Tzvi,” collection of prayers and lessons for days of chag, by HaRav Tzvi Hirsh Mohelhermsdorf, Linevil 1798, missing 4 pages at the end, the rest in excellent condition. 1. “Tov Roe’e”, commentary on Pirkei Avot, Livorno 1899, 79 pages. Good condition 2. “Minhat Erev,” issues relating to minchah and arvit—commentary and laws on the Pardes, and at the end a calendar for setting the years from 1897-1898. Livorno 1986. 108 pages. Good condition, defective binding. In total, two book by the Gaon HaRav Yosef Knafo, in the book Malachei Rabanan, page 61, it is written about him that “he was sanctimonious with his Maker, and upon his death he arose from his bed and sat and his face became red and he lowered his head and said three times, welcome is the Shechinah in its full force that soon will gather its people and rise to God above.”

Babylonian Talmud Seder Kedoshim, Prague 1842—includes 2 blueprints of the Beit Hamikdash according to the Rambam.

A volume of the Babylonian Talmud, seder Kedoshim with corrections and marks, and the book “Sadeh Tzofim” from HaRav Bezalel Renshbourg, and pamphlet “Merapeh Lashon” from HaRav Moshe Segel Landa, Prague 1842. At the end of masechet Tamid there are 2 folded blueprints of the shape of the Beit Hamikdash according to the Rambam. Good condition, the maps have a tear with no missing information, missing 2 pages after the title page at the start of masechet Kritot. Nice original leather binding.

Lot 3 important books from the Salonika printing—first editions.

(1) “Birech Moshe,” additions to the masechtot of the Shas by HaRav Moshe ben Aderet, Salonika in Constantinople handwriting 1815—only edition, rare. 120 pages, the upper margins are charred throughout the book with damage to the text in a number of words in the last pages. Between the pages of the book is the stamp of ownership of the Righteous Gaon HaRav Eliezer Yitzhak Berman, who worked in Israeli/Jewish youth education on Torah. (2) Book of questions and answers “Hakakei Lev” Cha”b, on laws of trials, by the Gaon HaRav Haim Plagi, Salonika 1843—only edition, rare and early stories of the Reb Haim Plagi, # (8) in the title page for the number of books of the author. Generally good condition, water stains. 221 pages. (3) Book of questions and answers “Hakakei Lev” of Yoreh De’ah, by the Gaon Or HaYarah HaRav Refael Yosef Hazzan, Salonika 1806, first edition. 157 pages, moth damage and wear.
