Megillah written by hand from the 19th century, in a silver housing decorated by hammering and cutting work with unusual (and different) decorations of scenes from the megillah. Utilizes decorations of megillah housings from the 18th century, but this one appears to be 20th century. Height: 24cm, parchment is 7.5cm high, 15 lines per column. Total weight: 205g. Sefer Torah written by hand on Ashkenazi parchment (Beit Yosef) in a small format with pretty handwriting, a little smudged in parts of the book. Parchment size: 30cm. Writing is in a single hand and complete, the sefer is given in a wooden Aron Kodesh which is 58x29x18cm. Includes a cover made of embroidery work, with lions holding the crown and a dedication from 1927. On There is a small silver breastplate that matches, with hammer work of lions holding the two tablets. Plants and flowers. On the breastplate is a dedication “donated by Rav Simcha Ze’ev Feldsman.” Size: 16x13cm. Weight: 100g. Not stamped. Seems to be from Europe, 19th century. Generally good condition. The sefer is not sold as kosher. From a private collection.
Written in Djerba, seemingly end of the 19th century. Nice writing, a little smudged in some of the book. Parchment is 20cm. Single hand, complete writing, given in a wooden case with the dedication “this sefer torah is from Rabbi David Joey.” Includes a silver (short) yad for the sefer with inscription “for the Kohanim of Djerba). Length: 25cm. Weight: 83g. Total height of the case: 42cm. Diameter: 20cm. Not sold as kosher. Rabbi David Joey was a sage and dayan in Tunis, served at the Beit Din of the Ra’avad, Rabbi Yisrael Zaytoun, he is known for his correspondence with Rabbi Moshe Zaken Mazuz, the Av Beit Din of Djerba, which was printed in the book Sever Panim, Livorno 1880. Died in 1911.
With cursive letters throughout the book, on red/brown animal parchment, a huge animal. According to the shape of the letters (the loopy pey and tet, and some of the deep letters), this seems to have been written in Italy 250-300 years ago. Size of the parchment: 40cm, 42 lines per column, height of the box: 54cm. Diameter: 24cm. Given in a case from a later period, made of wood. Around the case is ANLAW work with an inscription of “VeZot HaTorah”. Generally good condition. Not sold as kosher! From a private collection.
Written on white parchment, a large animal. The writing seems to be from Afghanistan or Iran around 100-150 years ago. Height: 40cm, 42 lines per column, height of the case: 88cm. Diameter: 27cm. Given in a quality, especially heavy wooden case from a later period, decorated with embossing of silver and an inscription, in the upper section: “this case and the sefer torah housed within it are in memory of Ziva bat Avraham of Radian ben Mordechai, Tu Bishvat.” Lower portion: “on the condition that any place where the owners will wish to take it out and place it in different locations, the permission is theirs.” Colorful handwritten dedication on the interior on paper, “Haviva bat Ziva bat Avraham of Radian ben Mordechai.” Generally good condition, not sold as kosher!
